Tom Lowe, Driving School Owner.
Meet The Team.......
Tom Lowe is the owner of the driving school. He has been a driving instructor since 2006 and is as popular as ever. His naturally calm and pleasant nature certainly goes down well. He covers both Gloucester and Cheltenham and at present has a top of the range Fiesta.
He is a very talented guitarist and somehow is able to conjure well known tunes out of thin air, always with his trademark smile. He is married to Lisa, who became the office manager when Tom took over and they have two lovely daughters, Daisy and Freya. They live in Longlevens.
"Tom came to my rescue just when I needed him. I had been with another driving school and it was so erratic, I wanted to give up. My husband phoned Lis at John Lowe Driving and was impressed, so booked up a lesson for me. Tom was completely different, reliable and polite. His teaching methods seemed to make it easier and I eventually passed. Thanks, Tom!"
" I had learnt the basics with my Dad when I started with Tom, and was surprised that I was doing so much wrong. He was very positive and soon had me on the right track. My friends are all with him now."
Charlie, our auto instructor has been with us now from the start and his driving test pass rate has remained steadily way above the national average, his consistency being one of the main reasons for our success.
Our automatic car is a Honda Jazz, which is comfortable, responsive, and easy to get used to.
Students choose to learn automatic driving for a number of different reasons, so if you make that decision, we are able to help you all the way.
Lisa Lowe is our office manager in charge of customer services. She has a background in education, being a former school teacher.
She sees that our students are allocated to the most suitable driving instructor, deals with the driving instructors diaries, and answers the numerous queries that can crop up. She will confirm all of the arrangements by text, so that eveything is clear.
She is enormously experienced and awfully nice, so she can always help with any situation, and you will always be treated with respect, as Lisa will always remember that it is yourdriving lesson.
Our driving instructor, Sara Povey, lives in the Forest of Dean, and very helpfully is able to look after students from that area, as well as our normal areas around Gloucester.
Sara has proved to be a great addition to John Lowe Driving and we were very pleased when she joined us, as she is very up to date with the latest requirements and always provides an exceptional driving lesson.
Sara is always putting her students first, they mean a lot to her. As well as loving all aspects of driving, she keeps fit by regular swimming and running. She drives a new Renault Clio, which is perfect for learning.
The price of a driving lesson is only one of the factors that you should consider when making your choice of driving instructor.
Deciding where to spend your money on driving lessons is not really like going out shopping, seeing the product you want and then shopping around for the best deal, as several shops will sell the same item, but will price them differently.
Driving instructors cannot be compared like for like. They may drive around in similar looking cars but the instruction and customer service they offer can vary enormously. Some instructors, once qualified, sit back and never take any additional training to keep up with new developements.
The Driving instructors at John Lowe Driving take part in CPD which is continued professional developement that ensures that they are at the forefront of the many changes taking place with in the industry. We have weekly meetings to chew over the multitude of events that take place, and very often find ways to improve our customer service. It's important to get together regularly anyway.
Value for money.
There are driving Instructors who are reliable, have first class teaching skills, years of experience, high pass rates and many satisfied customers. These instructors stay busy for a very good reason, not because they are the cheapest in town but because their customers benefit from properly structured lessons and modern teaching skills, which ultimately translates into fewer driving lessons needed and a higher proportion of first time passes.
On the other hand some instructors still teach old methods and have poor customer service skills, which will mean that more lessons and tests are required, which in the end will be a lot more expensive.
If you are paying for driving lessons, your driving instructor must be on the DVSA register, and must display his licence on the car windscreen. A fully qualified instructor will display a green badge, and a trainee (part qualified) instructor will display a pink badge.
All of the instructors at John Lowe Driving are fully qualified and will display their green badges.
