The Taster Pack is a great way to get started, as you can get used to your instructor and car without committing to a block of 10 lessons, which can be pricey at the beginning. You can, of course, just book individual lessons if you prefer. See our prices page for details.
Our instructors will pick you up at home, school, work, or any agreed location and there are never any backseat passengers on your lesson!
You will always be treated with respect, so that even topics that seem daunting can be dealt with. Your driving instructor will be coaching you using the latest client centred techniques, making a test pass far more likely.
We will never forget that it is your driving lesson.
Why not join the thousands (really!) of students who have passed their driving tests with John Lowe Driving.

From Novice To Test- The Curriculum.
We have been putting together a series of notes regarding the knowledge and skills needed to become a safe driver, pass your driving test and have an accident free driving career. We think they are rather cool and you can find them on this website on the "Free Advice" page.
Also, take a look at the "Did You Know?" page. You will find posts on unusual and confusing events that can crop up when you are driving, and ways to stay safe online when dealing with test bookings and licence applications.
As we know too well, the costs involved in insuring young drivers after they have passed their driving tests can be painfully eye-watering. One way to reducing these costs and to encourage safe driving is to have a "black box" or telematic installed in the car by the insurance company. We have looked into this technology and our findings are on the "Free Advice" page.
Learner Drivers To Be Allowed Onto Motorways- An Update.
It would seem that plans to allow learner drivers onto motorways is to go ahead next year (2017.)
This change will allow learner drivers to experience the different driving conditions and speeds found on motorways, hopefully cutting down the potential for accidents and confusion that can arise when motorways are first used by novice drivers. The student will have to be accompanied by a fully qualified approved driving instructor in a car fitted with dual controls.
These new opportunities will not be compulsory yet, due to remote districts, away from a motorway network, where some students live. It will not be part of the driving test either for the same reason. To read our original article on this subject, please go to the Free Advice page.
First Aid Skills in the Driving Test?........It could be coming.
"Drugalysers".......They are in use now. For more info on both subjects, see our "Did You Know" page.
We are sometimes asked about the best approach regarding private driving practice, so we are putting together a series on the subject, that you can find on this website on the Private Practice page. We will add a new post at least once a week, until completed.
First Time Passes.
Every student would like a first time driving test pass, but nationally only about 20% of students will achieve this. First time passes are not unusual at all at John Lowe Driving and our rates are much higher than the national average, however,we would like to congratulate our driving instructor, Tom Lowe, who has just achieved his 15thconsecutive first time pass, which is a wonderful recent record and a fine example of customer success. Well done,Tom, well done those successful students and enjoy your new found freedom. You deserve it!
Copy of Text Received From Very Happy Student.
Here is a copy of a text sent to our driving instructor, Jackie Kaur, from her student, Thomas Samuel, who passed his driving test at the first attempt in Gloucester on February 23rd 2016.
We let our students do the talking!
"Hi Jackie, sorry it's late! Just wanted to thank you for helping pass my driving test first time this morning! Really appreciate it, it means so much to me, living away from home and my girlfriend, so now I can drive to see them whenever I want! Thank you so much, Jackie! Take care!"
Evie King passed first time.
"I really want to thank my driving instructor, Tom Lowe, for helping me to pass my driving test and it's wonderful to pass first time! Tom was always so reliable and really knew how to treat me as a learner. John Lowe Driving is a great driving school and I really recommend them, I've got so many plans now and feel very confident and plan to drive the way I've been shown, as it must be the safest way."
"Fantastic day, I've just passed my driving test first time and things couldn't be better. I've got my own car waiting, a Seat Leon, and as a keen golfer it will help me to get around really easily with my clubs and other equipment. My driving instructor, Martyn Brewer, made the whole process enjoyable and always had time for a laugh and a chat about golf, as he's a very decent player. If you are thinking of learning to drive, contact John Lowe Driving and ask for Martyn, they won't let you down."
"My driving lessons are going really well with John Lowe Driving and I get on very well with my instructor, Martyn Brewer. I've had about 10 lessons so far and seem to have covered an awful lot and I feel more confident each time. This is my first attempt at driving and I chose John Lowe Driving School because other students at Denmark Road sixth form said how good they are. Martyn has got me studying for my theory test already, there's a lot to cover, so I'm pleased I have started early. Having driving lessons helps a lot with the theory work, and it's going well."
